The German Tourism Organization launched a new campaign FeelGood Germany, with the focus on sustainable travels and discovering destinations which combine natural beauties, rich culture and contemporary environmental initiatives. The goal of the company is to offer travellers the experiences which are equally pleasant and inspirational, but also responsible towards nature and communities.

Germany offers a unique opportunity for travellers to experience the country which cares for its natural and cultural wealth. From sustainable accommodation to destinations which respect the environment and local community, every adventure can also be environmentally responsible.

Sustainable accommodation

A stay in Germany can be comfortable and also sustainable. Hotels and boarding houses all over the country apply energy efficient solutions, use local products and offer their guests experience which respects nature and community. Regardless of whether you look for an urban boutique hotel or accommodation in the heart of countryside, sustainable choices are easily accessible here.

Lübeck and Travemünde – combination of history and sustainability

Lübeck is a paradise for culture lovers. The city combines rich heritage of the UNESCO protected Old Town with relaxed life on the seashore (Baltic Sea), concurrently implementing sustainability initiatives. This city is also called “the city of seven towers”, and it is a perfect example how contemporary environmental awareness can be perfectly merged with medieval architecture.

Since 2023, Lübeck and Travemünde, a popular summer resort (former fishing village), have been certified as a sustainable destination by the TourCert. Visitors can enjoy cultural sites, local gastronomy and environmentally responsible activities along the Baltic coast.

In the Northern Schwartzwald (German province of Baden-Württemberg) visitors experience top-class mountaineering. From the sunny summits to idyllic valleys, this region offers incomparable trails over 1.400 kilometres long and unique natural experiences that join culture, history and tradition. In order to have thorough experience, sustainable accommodation is recommended – from the hotels with environmental certificates to mountain chalets which use local products and renewable energy sources. They allow visitors to enjoy nature without compromising on comfort, and at the same time contribute to the preservation of environment and promotion of local tradition.
